Details:
It was one of the most awesome planetary images I´ve ever seen with a telescope in my 25 years as amateur astronomer: today Venus looked very bright and enormous (58), but also ultra thin (only 0.2% illuminated), and almost ring-shaped. The planet was only 3.7º from the Sun, so I placed my 120 mm refractor telescope very close to a wall to block the view of our star.
