A Great 2012 Perseid Meteor Shower night!
Perseid Meteors & Lunar/Planetary Conjunction on 08-12-2012
After being out at JBSPO for most of the night watching the Perseid meteor shower, I got home around 4:00am to find this beautiful alignme
nt rising in the East above my backyard observatory Dome in Dayton, Ohio. I saw several bright meteors and decided to take a few dozen shots until around 5:30am, and I caught 3 Perseid Meteors running through this image!

Modified Canon Rebel Xsi & 17mm lens, ISO 400, 20 second exposure x 2 , had to keep them short to prevent too much lens flaring from the bright Waning Crescent Moon!

Ill post a labeled text Version to help you ID the major objects in the FOV shortly!

I captured over 230 Perseid Meteors on my Sky camera network on the house as well, but will post that as a movie later this week..tons of data to go through!

Best Regards,
John Chumack
