Details:
Went to bed last night and started reading a book, then around midnight I checked the Mull magnetometer and noted a fairly large spike. At first I though there might be a mistake, but it was confirmed to some extent by Lancaster. It took a while to get this shot as there was allot of cloud at first, and for much of the time the aurora was quiet. Interestingly at the time the NOAA wing kp model was down at zero and forecasting zero, obviously takes a while to catch up with events. Just goes to show, if the magnetometer is twitching, its probably happening in the sky. Taken with a Canon 60d at 0022 UT with a 24mm lens, 800 ISO, f2.2, 30 second exposure.
