Details:
I was out shooting a relatively weak aurora during the evening, and was just about to call it a night when I noticed a large impact on the ACE Satellite. The aurora soon responded with the best display that I have seen since October 2003, easily outshining the bright moonlit horizon, what a spectacle !!. Images taken with a Canon 60d, 18mm lens, f2.8, 800-1600 ISO, 4-6 second exposures to capture the detail. Taken between 0025 and 0120 UTC.
