Details:
More shots from the 9:00 hour of September 30th, 2012. The display started as a dim arc, then vertical lines formed in the arc, and then the northern sky went crazy for half an hour. It wasnt nearly this colorful to the naked eye but it was still fun to watch. Later I looked at a magnetometer chart posted here and saw that I had been watching the effects of largest reverberation after the CME had passed.
