Details:
South-central Alaska caught the tail-end of the impact from that beautiful full-halo CME. By the time we rolled into the oval the solar wind magnetic Bz component had swung northward which appears to have had a dampening effect on the aurora. There still were about four short and sweet surges of active green curtains between 8:55 pm and 1:15 am local time. Then all was quiet.
