Details:
Aurora was beautiful even though there was a lot of cloud and it was windy hopefully will get some more clear skies. The second photo is of a bright patch in the sky not sure if it is the Aurora or a cloud any suggestions

I saw the same white shaft from Inverness last night and assumed it was a jet trail, but It couldnt have been. It was also seen in Canada.

Saw the same thing from 25 miles west of Aberdeen around 11PM, called the whole family out to see it. Also the whole of the northern horizon seemed very light, and there arent any big population centers from here to the Moray coast.
