I took this pic on Sept 22. The Twelve Bens are the mountains on the right; the small town of Clifden is the one source of light pollution on the horizon, projecting that orange glow onto the low clouds. (The contrast boost I applied to the image makes the light pollution seem a lot worse than it was in reality).

The faint green glow low to the north is probably a hint of an aurora (they were clearly photographed in Scandinavia that same night).
