Details:
Driving back at midnight from photographing a late sunset on the prairies, I saw these clouds shining to the north. I had not heard of noctilucent clouds so I thought it was a strange incarnation of the Aurora Borealis although it didnt look right by any stretch. A fellow photographer, Olivier Du Tre, saw this image on my website and corrected me. It was great to learn about this phenomenon and to be able to see it.
