Details:

A dazzling display of the northern lights (aurora borealis) erupted on November 13th/14th. Even though it was considered a moderate geomagnetic storm (KP 6), it was one of the best light shows I have seen in years. I did have a tense moment, however, as anywhere from 5 to 8 coyotes closed in on me to about twenty five yards or so. They decided to take off, yelping all the way through the field back into the forest. Clarence-Rockland, Ontario. Photographed with a Canon 7D and Sigma 17-70 at 17mm, f2.8, 13s, iso 1000, tripod, daylight wb, and 2sec timer to reduce camera shake.
