Details:
The fireball left a train that lasted for several minutes in various shapes and hues. This meteor shower was probably one of the best I have seen since the late 1990s. Meteor rates were over 100 per hour throughout the 3-1/2 hours I was out. At times there were 2, 3, or 4 at a time falling within the camera view.

I am fairly certain that my fiancee and I saw this fireball. We were just walking out to the back yard to observe when we observed a beautiful green fireball that flashed bright enough to light up the ground and cast shadows. We placed its time at 2:30 EST facing SSW from where we live in Franklin, NC. Amazing photo! :)

Here is a link from NASA on this fireball that is shown above in my picture. This was captured by their network of meteor cameras. There is about a minute or so off between the NASA time and my camera time taking into the UTC time difference.

Sun dogs fire on the horizon
Meteor rain stars across the night
This moment may be brief
But it can be so bright
Reflected in another source of light
When the moment dies
The spark still flies
Reflected in another pair of eyes

Brought to you by the letter zed
