Details:
I was out in my backyard about 30 min after sunset and Ive noticed the 3/4-illuminated Moon of a very strong blue/cyan color. Since I perfectly know the Moon cannot be that color, I tried understanding why.
And the solution I think is the high altitude haze that whas of a very pronouced red color, making all the landscape of this color. By contrast the normally white Moon appeared by naked eye blue/cyan with a very high saturation.
Ive taken two photos, one wide field and one close on the Moon. The first confirm the strong red tint of the landscale, while the second one confirm the usual white/brown color of the Moon. However in the attached image Ive tried to render the visual appearance.
The moral is: our eye, even if perfectly aware, can be easily misleaded!
