We are a german Couple on an Aurora-Expedition to northern Norway and swedish and finnish Lappland. It is the second time for us to visit the far North of Europe. Since we saw the Aurora on our trip last year, we are fascinated by this phenomenon. This time weve got four weeks for further amazing experiences.

Yesterday, for the 4th time in a 7day period, we had really amazing northern lights. Just before Nightfall, we found a wonderful place alongside the beautiful Steinfjord on the Island of Senja, Norway. The moon shined bright on Trælen-Mountain, giving extra spice to the fabulous auroral Displays, which appeared in the Dawn about 6pm.

Due to poor mobile data rates only two representative pics (compressed) from the Beginning of the display.

I guess, there is more to come with the actual increase in solar activity....

Nikon D800, ISO 800-1250, Exp 8 & 7 sec, f3,2 & 2,8, Nik. 14-24 f2.8, Nik 14 f2.8
