Winter here on the edge of the Peak District has been the coldest for many years. It's brought a welcome change to the drab, damp days we have come to expect. Even though it has been so cold, Spring arrived during the night. Miraculous, intricate leaves appeared encrusted on trees and bushes, which shimmered in the sunshine. But these were no ordinary leaves; these were made of ultra-thin ice. Sadly, Spring left almost as soon as it came - as the Sun gained warmth the leaves fell to the ground and disappeared into the snow. Nikon D50, 17-70mm lens, 200 ISO
