I was filming AR1504 for over 4 hours today and caught the full sequence of an M1.2-class solar flare breaking across this active region. The still shows the peak of the event with the full movie sequence running fro 12:06 to 14:17UT in grade 2 to grade 3 seeing conditions. I was using my PST at 1.6m focal length [F40] with a DMK21 mono camera. Processed in Registax 6 and animated in Photoshop CS5.
