The picture shows the autumnal equinox from the plateau of Giza, Egypt. As the Sphinx is east-west aligned, every equinox, the Sun sets behind the right shoulder of Hormachis (the Sphinx), or beyond the southern foot of the Pyramid of King Khephren.
