Salla-Sallatunturi, Finnish Lapland
WOW-WOW-WOW, Fabulous!!!! But actually no words can be found to describe the 2 hours Aurora show above the Sallatunturi fell in Finnish Lapland around midnight between the 3rd and 4th of September 2011. Also difficult to choose from 160 pictures..... Accompanied again by eight scary owls hunting for mice, an unforgettable dark orange midnight sky just above the horizon and a beautiful starry sky all around I witnessed again the majestic of colorful waving aurora curtains, screws, spirals, rays and arcs, only the corona was missing. Temperature on the top was +5C, at street level -2C! Good for the autumn coloring!
