Imaged form my backyard, 'Maple Ridge Observatory', located near Cambray, ON Canada.
Jan 9th was a bright, cold, crisp day and I was glad to take the time to have a look at the sun. I was surprised to see that AR1040 was putting on an impressive show in Ha and CaK. I took a set of full disk images and close ups of AR1040 in both Ha and Cak light. The full disk images were shot through a William Optics 70mm APO and the active regions were imaged through a 10cm refractor. I use a Lumenera Infinity 2-1M camera (false colour pallett applied post processing) with a Lunt LS50FHa/B1200 Ha filter set and a Lunt B1200 CaK module. Images were process with Registax.
