This evening topped the photos taken 24 hours ago. I took 7 images tonight - #'s 2 & 5 of the series are shown - but the most spectacular image is #2 where the Shuttle put on a major light show. I suspect there was an area of cloud in the upper atmosphere that reflected whatever sunlight bounced off Discovery. But the jet of light resembles that from a comet as it orbits the Sun- something that remains quite mysterious, coming from the Shuttle and in need of a more complete answer. Photos taken with Canon 40D, 17-35mm.L lens. 30 sec. exposures, ISO 500.
