Hello, In this image of AR1045 recorded on 13th Feb, Sol gifted me sunspots, solar granules, faculae and the Wilson effect. From my back garden in Brisbane, sheltering under my shade blanket, I watched these solar features in awe, each sharply visible for a few seconds at a time during small waves of excellent seeing superimposed on the live image on the computer screen. In this image of the remnants of AR1045, the faculae are the bright areas that appear like a river of light flowing towards the solar limb. The large sun spot at the limb exhibits a bowl like depression in the photosphere, first described by a Scottish astronomer named Alexander Wilson in 1769. Cheers Dennis
