A beautiful display of Noctilucent clouds this late evening. Very transparent skies over the Low Countries. Just after 21 UTC the first NLC’s were visible and half an hour later a large display covered almost a quarter of the sky. At the beginning NLC’s were visible even almost at the zenith, around 80 degrees height above the horizon. A small movie shows the typical wave pattern during a period of 6 minutes. Especially the structure a bit right from the centre of the image (to the top of the film) shows very special effects. Just like some NLC clouds are being stopped at certain moment. Possibly there are layers at different heights in that region. The movie has been made between 2140 and 2146 UTC. Camera: Fujifilm Finepix S100fd, exposure time 2,5 seconds, 100 ASA.
