While out filming aurora a halo developed around the moon as it was getting close to setting in the western sky. At first there were no aurora near the moon, but after about 30 minutes they moved south enough to be included in the photo of moon. It looks like there may be a faint upper tangent arc developing. Photo taken with a Canon 450d f2.8 15 sec, ice crystals falling in a clear sky at -24C. 0144AST Colville River Delta Northern Alaska
