Orion is my favorite constellation. This picture I took with an ordinary dslr with manual 50 mm Nikkor lens. Camera fixed on a tripod and during the one minute exposure I have changed the focal distance on the lens from infinity in three steps to 10 metres en 5 metres. Notice the different colors of the stars, especially the orange Betelgeuze in the left corner. It's great fun to experiment with astrophotography without an expensive mount and telescope! Everyone can do this!
