From Hungary we could see the nicest close conjunction and the occultation of Venus - the celestial event of the year - with a cold front rushing across the country. So lots of rainshowers made the afternoon exciting - where can we find a place without clouds at the SW? At Lake Balaton, a small village, Balatonakarattya with stunnig view to the lake! Clouds were coming and going, but for the moment Venus disappeared behind the crescent Moon - sky was almost clear at the right place. At reappearance of Venus it was covered by the cloud of the next rainshower, but some minutes after the red crescent and the planets (also reddened) appeared again. We could see them until they set. I have to thank the opportunity to Tamas Ladanyi with whom I was seeking for the best view of the event.
