solar prominence NW P. Fitzpatrick, F. Stewart, J. Stetson Image taken: Jun. 13, 2009 Location: South Portland, Maine Details: The Solar and Heliostatic Observatory image this morning revealed a huge prominence near the SW limb of our sun. That prom was moving quickly away from the limb. We missed that event, but we enjoyed observing and imaging the prom on the NW limb. ©2013, SpaceWeather.com -- This site is penned daily by Dr. Tony Phillips.
