After learning of this possible impact event, I wanted to try to see and image it with my 6" F12 Maksutov-Cassegrain. Sky conditions were dismal though, with a thick haze moving into the area, and the forecast for the next several days showing nothing but overcast conditions. I managed to get a brief semi-opening at 08:09 UT on July 21 and used this to see it visually and grab some video with my ToUcam II Pro and 1.6X Barlow. I didn't really expect to get much of anything since the opening was still quite murky. But after some stacking and processing, I managed to tease out some detail and record the feature. Not a great image, but it's been 15 years since the last such event. We have to take these opportunities when we can get them!
