In spite of the prominence I thought that a possible new active site in the NE could be looked at in CaK and H-a with my Coronado PTS telescopes. In CaK it looked as though there was a proto-spot or small sunspot (with a dark core)present. I set up my AstroTech 102 refractor, Baader Film and my trusty Philips ToUcam with x3 Barlow and IR blocking filter. Difficult to find due to heat haze and unstable seeing but an active area was present. Will it be assigned AR 1019 or will it fade?
