I brought my astronomy club's Ha telescope to my in-laws in Central Massachusetts to take a look at the sun spots which have finally arrived. When I looked through the scope I saw this huge filament off the edge of the sun. WOW! I've never seen one this large before. Everyone came over to see what the commotion was. What a great and unexpected treat for IYA 2009!
