In just one out of 70 frames shot during one hour after midnight, I was lucky enough to get a Orionid meteor on my chip. During the hour I spent outside in a freezing wind I observed a total of 8 meteors all originated from a point slightly left of Orion. Photo details: Nikon D70, 18mm, ISO650, f/4, 30s. |

Mild auroral activity was visible in between the clouds and fog on the night of October 20. On one image a plane came flying straight towards the auroa and created a nice trail. Photo details: Canon Digital Rebel XT, 18 - 55 mm lens, RC-5 and tripod. ISO: 800. EXP 27 - 45 sec. |

In the last week or so, we have had a lot of auroras. I went up to the lake to take some startrail pictures, but the Moon and the bright auroras put a stop to that. Photo details: Canon 5D with a 24mm F.2.8, Iso 1000, F3.2, 30s exposure. |
