This Lunar eclipse occured early in the morning, Canberra time. This image was taken from the highest point in Canberra and shows the lights of the city below the Moon. At the time this image was taken, the eastern horizon was already growing light.

It was my first lunar eclipse! The sky cleared during the totality, the eclipse was very beautiful. Canon EOS 300D digital camera, 400 ASA exposure time between 0.5 and 5s (1/50s with the telescope)

This image of the May 5, 2004, total lunar eclipse was taken during totality at 4:08am (May 4, 2004 20:08 UT) by James Kevin Ty of the Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP). He used a 4' f/5.4 TV-101 apochromatic refractor with 2x TV Big Barlow with Canon EOS 300D digital camera. Exposure was 14 sec at ISO 400.

'RED' Lunar eclipse while the moon is low on the western horizion. Not long after these pics the moon was in total eclipse, however then sun was fast coming up and washing out the Moon's spectactular display.
