A
big one tonight! Even the sea got some color. It started
out by shifting colors. But by the time I got up the hill,
the color-shifting was over and stayed green.

Another
great night for auroras in Lapland, Sweden! These 2 pictures
show the contrast between a calm night, and a night like
tonight the 29th of October. Auroras light up the whole
village and surroundings. Another great night in Porjus,
Sweden! |

Taken
12 miles north of Fargo with a Canon 300D and 10-22mm for
the wide angles, 50mm 1.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8L for the close
ups. The aurora kept going from a green glowing blob to
a crown with spikes over Canada. |

This
very pretty and active 'coronal hole' aurora display lasted
all night, and included a couple of impressive substorms.
A truly enjoyable show! The sky was perfectly clear, temp
around -10 C. The cabin shown in the picture belongs to
the reindeer herders in Pallas-Ounastunturi National Park.
