The clouds were completly covering the sun during most of the eclipse. We did not expect to see anything. Suddenly, at about 6:17 PM the sky became bright just below the clouds. We were then treated to the eclipse as the sun set over the next 5 minutes. Photos taken with a handheld Canon PowerShot S1 IS, with the zoom set at 12X.

Photo taken on a Fujifilm FinePix S20 Pro digital camera at 7.19AM NZ Time, 1/90th sec at f3.1, with two polariser filters on lense to cut down the light and to stop my eyes from frying!! At the same time there was a gorgeous rainbow directly behind us, a real treat.

What a great eclipse! We got the annularity with the Sun hanging low above the horizon. The landscape got a little bit dark. Photo details: Panasonic Palmcorder. For some shots I used a 50mm refractor telescope proyecting the Sun inside a box.

The eclipse was not visible from Northern Ohio, so we drove 19 hours to Howard Park in Tarpon Springs, Florida to see it. And what a site is was. Picture was taken with 8” Meade LX200GPS with 6.3 focal reducer and Canon 10D camera. After the eclipse we were treated to a wonderful sunset as usual from Howard Park. Picture was taken with 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS lens on a Canon 10D. Then we drove 19 hours home…
